A lenticular filter work principle is based on depth filtration. Liquid flows from the outside of the stacked disc filter module through the depth-sensitive media toward the center core. As the liquid passes through the matrix, particles are trapped throughout the entire thickness of the media, not just on the surface, allowing for superior clarification.

Installation: Place the depth stack filter modules onto the center post of the housing and tighten the compression nut.

Sanitization: Flush the system with hot water or steam to ensure hygiene.

Wetting/Bleeding: Slowly fill the housing with liquid while venting air through the top valve.

Filtration: Maintain a constant flow rate. Avoid sudden pressure shocks which can damage the depth media.

You should replace your lenticular filter when the differential pressure (Delta P) reaches the terminal limit recommended by the manufacturer, typically between 1.5 to 2.5 bar (22-36 psi). If you notice no differential pressure during operation, it usually indicates a "bypass." This can happen if the lenticular filter module is not seated correctly, the center post gaskets are damaged, or the filter media has been ruptured due to excessive backpressure. Immediate inspection of the Filter Modules is required.

To "repack" or regenerate a lenticular filter used in wine production (to remove tartrate buildup), flush the system with a 1-2% citric acid solution. Allow it to circulate or soak for 15-30 minutes, then rinse thoroughly with cold water. This process helps restore the flow rate and extends the service life of your LOONG Filtration depth stack.

For a lenticular filter, a positive displacement pump (such as an air-operated double diaphragm pump or a flexible impeller pump) is ideal. These pumps provide a gentle, constant flow which is crucial for depth filtration.
